From The Washington Blade: Applicants for Justice Department internships and honors programs may have been rejected based on their membership in LGBT groups during the Bush administration, the Blade has learned. Numerous applicants were denied entry to the department�s Honors Program and the summer intern program starting in 2006 because of their previous work in what were deemed to be liberal organizations, according to an internal Justice Department report issued last year. Hi,
I am applying for Citizenship after completing 4 years and 9 months as a Permanent Resident in US.
Can any one please let me know as what is the processing time to get the Citizenship after I apply?

Also I have planned to move to a different State after I apply for Citizenship.

Please let me know whether it fine to move to a different address after applying for Citizenship? Else is this move not advisable?
Does this address change delay my Citizenship processing time?

Most people have now heard about Stephen Colbert's testimony in front of the House Immigration Subcommittee this week on the subject of new laws for migrant farmworkers. Some have criticized the Committee for letting the comedian speak. I say, how high can the standards be if they let me testify? My friend Stuart Anderson of the National Foundation for American Policy has a thoughtful piece explaining why the testimony was helpful. Here's the video link if you missed the testimony.

My priority date is Jan 2006 in EB3 and I wanted to understand what happens after you file I-485. Is is all first come first after that or they will process 485based on priority date. What if I filed my 485 on july 1 and another person with an earlier priority date filed it after 6 months considering the priority dates are still current till then. Will mine be processed before the other guy.

Also, I was going to take a promotion in my company and file a new application in EB2 but with all dates being current now I am confused. I will still apply for 485 in Eb3 and get the benefits for EAD and AP but I am sure the final approval and getting of green card is going to take 5-6 years for jan 2006 eb3 dates.

My questions

Can I still change to Eb2 after filing a 485 in EB3?
Can I port the priority date from EB3 to Eb2 after eb3 140 is approved?

as per my knowledge"One should file a new LCA for an H1B petition" if work location changed from one state of US to other state.

Can you please tell me the process and how long will it take for this LCA approval?
After LCA approval, do I have to go for Visa stamping though we have valid visa?
How much does it costs for new LCA?

I am eagerly waiting for responses as I need it urgenetly.

I had a 221g in 2000 and submitted all the docs. I got response in 2002 (After 2 years :eek:) . I had just 10 months left on my H1 that time. So we will never know. But situation in 2000 was different. I am not discouraging you but telling how hard these 221gs will be. I hope its not that bad these days and you may get response soon.

Yes you can file for 485 even if you have 140 pending.




Since all categories are current as of july 1st, can i file for 485/EAD/AP even if my 140 is still pending. thanks.
